I wanted to write something in here yesterday ... but I didn't know what to write. A day later ... more than a day later, and the random smiles that come across my face when I think of this season (not just yesterday, but everything that happened this season) is just amazing. I was sitting on the subway coming home from a night of drinking not 1 hour ago, sitting on a chair by myself grinning like an idiot I didn't care that people were looking at me.

I dunno what to say man. I don't know.

And i can see the headlines 12 months from now:

arty00231: IFLTC too! The reason i started PTC was because of all the negativity, but also because I knew football worked in cycles. Its important to remain positive because success could be just around the corner. Look back to when we lost to espanyol and atléti. One dramaqueen (im sure you know who im talking about..and there were others as well) said that we might as well hand the league to madrid and give up on the CL because we're not going to win anything this season. I dont want to be that sort of culé. A draw and two losses after the most impressive ever start to the season, and you are giving up? Thank god pep and the boys didnt have that mentality this season. They took each game as it came, and remained PTC from kick off to the last second. Some culés dont deserve the character demonstrated by this team. After all the jeering and booing of players last season, the lack of faith shown in pep at the beginning, the negativity during our bad patch, the talk of starting bojan over eto'o in the CL, and also the mentality that we'd already lost the CL before we'd played it... But im happy that even if those people didnt earn it, they still got it. Hopefully it will make them more positive in future seasons.

Like i said to meta yesterday, the treble isnt a dream. You dont dream of the treble. You dream of the double (domestic or lliga & CL), but the treble is something you dont contemplate. In this modern era you shouldnt be able to win the treble. To compete in the league and in europe is too hard for you to also compete in the domestic cup. You field a weakened team so that you can compete in the other two. But we did it. We made history. And we made history by playing the most beautiful football, and attacking from minute 1 to minute 90. Never sitting back on a lead. This is the season you tell your grandkids of, and the season they pass on to their children and grandkids. Even if its 100 years away, this will still be a crowning success of fcb.

I want us to dominate. Im not going to talk about us winning another treble, or even a double. We must play to win each competition we take part in, but i dont want to do what we did in 2007 and say we'll sweep the table. We need to remain positive, but also humble.

*Not only did we win, but we left doubt that we were the best team in Europe.
*We are being applauded worldwide for proving (once again) that beautiful football can be winning football.
*We have 3 of the top 5 players in the world (possibly even the top 3).
*We have probably the best under 20 player in Spain.
*We have a horde of young players with passion for the club, and brimming with talent.
*The nucleus of the team is young, and should have several more years with the club.
*Next year we will be even stronger!!!

If you're not a Positive Thinking Cule now, then go follow Newcastle and cry with them!

EDIT: not meant as an insult to Newcastle or their fans. Clubs go through ups and downs. Just be proud that we're on the highest up we could ever dream of.

Maz, I was reading the PTC thread on the old forum last night. The whole PTC thing & the following post are stuff of legend;

Then again I dont buy albums because its illegal to d/l. I buy them cuz i like to have cd's. I like to read the booklet. I love flicking through my parents' record collection and finding some amazing tracks, and i know my children will do the same if i have cd's. If i have a bunch of mp3's with no art or anything, do u think my children will have the same excitement searching through my music collection?!


By the way, I'm sorta stalking you all through that old forum, sorry *joking, of course *

By the way if you want to read a good topic, search for the "Card to Eto'o" topic in the FC Barcelona forum. I created it, and its closer to page 1 than it is to the last page of topics if that makes sense (just so its easier for you to find).
