Who knows the way they are going they can finish top 4. They are miraculous.

They haven't really played any of the better teams yet, and one or two teams always start brightly. If they are still thereabouts in Feb/March I'd be very surprised. I'd be happy for them if they do actually finish in the top 4 though, it would be some achievement for what many thought of as relegation fodder after the summer transfers.

As for Liverpool, in the summer I commented on how average their summer signings were and got mocked here for saying. I wonder how many would disagree now. Balotelli is useless, Lambert should never in a million years have been a transfer target for a top four team. Moreno started well, but doesn't look so convincing recently. The rest, have been pretty underwhelming too. They were fantastic last season and really should have added one or two class players rather than a bunch of squad filler, which most of them clearly are.

People who think Cesc and Alexis would be helping Barca right now are not thinking straight. Where exactly is Alexis going to play and in place of whom? Suarez? Messi? He's basically useless without space, which is a precious commodity at Barca and a freebie in the Premier League. And what exactly is Cesc going to bring to Barca's midfield? He's getting assists but his performance has been steadily declining every week.

If I could buy players for Barca from the EPL, it would be Di Maria, Hazard, Toure, Kompany, Filipe Luis, Matic etc.

Cesc and Alexis would be around by 10th-12th choices.

Yeah the Cesc/Alexis nostalgia is a bit overboard in this forum. Both players are playing well because THEY ARE IN A TEAM THAT SUITS THEIR PLAYING STYLE.

Cesc basically occupied Messi's space and Alexis needs a free role to do any sort of damage. They are/will never fit in to Barca.

In fact we had both of those player together for three years and they manifestly failed to deliver. Their only good games came against rather weak opposition. I am not saying they are not good players but unfortunately they proved wholly unsuitable for us. Alexis goalscoring (or rather the complete lack of it) in the CL is all you need to know really.
