I think Liverpool need to sack Rodgers. He's so far up his own arse that he will never even contemplate a plan B, even when his way of playing is clearly not working.

'When I first came to Liverpool, I put my principles in place; this is the way I work.

'Once I was bedded in and people understood, I became a little more democratic, more educational. But after Palace, I’m thinking “Right, I need to become autocratic again.”

'I've provided even more clarity, been more concise in the ways of working.'

I'm sure the man thinks he's akin with Jesus teaching his disciples or something, an absolute whopper. Not good enough either it would seem.

In the first season he played a heavily possession-based system similar to his Swansea side. Second season he started playing three at the back while his playing style became more and more direct and counter attacking based (see 5-1 vs Arsenal). It's not like he has played the same way every game for two and a half years. This might apply to Wenger and Arsenal but definetely not Liverpool and Rodgers.

It would be stupid to sack him at this time. Liverpool are a very good team, but not a top club that should push for the title. Even Man Utd crashed out of the group stage a few times, even against Basel in 2011.

To be fair, my dislike of the man is probably clouding my judgement, as last season I admitted he was a good manager.

He may well be a good, adaptable coach. BUT, he is terrible in the transfer market, surely that isn't even up for debate anymore. I definitely think that with him as manager Liverpool should a have a director of football solely in charge of bringing in players. The amount of money they have spent and wasted under Rodgers is beyond a joke. Every man and his dog could see Ballotelli and Lambert were terrible replacements for Suarez. They alone you could forgive him for, but the list is almost endless for the amount of mediocre (at best) players he has bought...and not for cheap either.

You say Liverpool aren't a top club who should be pushing for the title, and I agree with you (these days). Their fans won't though and genuinely think they are the biggest and best in England. I see some of them turning on him already on their fan forums, and unless they turn things around quickly, he's going to be under a lot of pressure very soon.

Liverpool's mangers after Benitez have all been terrible in the transfer window (barring bringing Suarez in from Ajax).

Liverpool have spent over € 250M since Rodgers took over. Same as Barca, despite Barca buying Suarez and Nerman. Just ... how?

I know, and when you look at some of the names they wasted it on. Very silly spending. They had a great season last year, with 2 or 3 good signings they could have challenged again this year.

It is harder for them to attract world class players, but they really should have done better. Just like Spurs.

I don't think it's that difficult to attract world class signings but they should be more pragmatic with their wage structure...paying 200k a week to 3 marquee players and still maintaining their current wage structure would be the way forward for clubs like Liverpool and Spurs......Extra 30 odd million on the wage bill can be easily managed IMO

The money they have wasted is remarkable.

15 million pounds on Joe Allen?

Sakho 18 million

Borini 10 million

Balotelli 16 million

Downing 20 million

Lallana 25 million POUNDS! and he didn't even play in the biggest game of the their season so far
