Arsenal just couldn't control the midfield because their only proper central midfielder was Flamini...Wilshire would've been huge help today but Welbeck was absolutely abysmal....I don't get what he brings to this team with Giroud starting....

Arsenal contributed nothing offensively, were happy to give up possession and only concentrated on defending. It might not be anti football but certainly a very defensive game. 27-5 shots, 63%-37% possession... the best team lost here.

And can someone tell me why Arsenal are constantly compared to Barcelona? As a Barca fan I'd be pissed to be compared to a team that is outplayed against 10 men and barely has 35% possession.

If Alexis, Welbeck and Ox have an off day with Flamini, Chambers and Mert leaving huge gaps in defence what are you going to do? Attack and loose 5-1 like last year?

It was a terrible performance from Arsenal, but for once atleast they used their brain and didn't attack like a mad man

Arsenal had

Ozil
Ramsey
Wilshere
Diaby (lol)

all out injured. But yes, they need a world class CDM.. maybe two.

Well, there's a difference between defending and defending well. It's simply something they can't do because Wenger has no clue how to do it.

Also Arsenal seem to be known for their offensive football. Then why go to Liverpool, a team in crisis, and try to defend and actually get massively outplayed? Just because they scored with their two only chances doesn't mean they used their brains. They should stick to what they can do best.

Btw, I wouldn't compare that Liverpool team of last season with this season's team. Liverpool with Suarez and Sturridge would have easily smashed Arsenal today.

When you start with 3 strikers you don't go and try to defend. However when you realise that every1 is playing like crap and you can't keep the ball together for more than 3 passes, then maybe it's better to sit back a little and play on the counter? And yes Arsenal is known for controlling games that's why they were bad at this as well.

Playing bad is not anti-football...

Damn, Stoke's team is huge. Only 2 under 6 foot, Bojan and Muniesa (5'11).
