All of those teams are quite a bit under the elite category. Tottenham is the farthest away from being elite. And tbh, form all those teams, Chelsea is the one I'd want us to play against the least. They're building a strong team again. Kante's been a brilliant signing for them so far.

The Premier League has five elite high quality teams (Arsenal, City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs). Amazing, and the thing is, each team will not drop points against smaller teams. There is no space for imperfection, as the other elite teams will quickly build a gap if you drop points.

Its a race for perfection, a competition to see how much dominance each team can exert. The Premier League is a 96-point league this season, and at least four teams will surpass the 90-point mark.

The search for perfection.

I doubt any team will surpass 84 points because of the competitive nature of the league this season.

None of them elite - only 3 teams in Europe are elite.

I do think it could be a 3 or 4 horse race for the title and conceivably 3 teams could be in contention in the last game of the season which would be surreal.

Arsenal and Man City though for my money will be the top 2. Arsenal are the best at beating the crap teams and struggle to overcome the best but they've beaten Chelsea and in Koscielny-Mustafi have the best centre back pairing in the league. With Sanchez and Ozil up top and Oxlade-Chamberlain in midfield they will be in the race. City had a blip and still remained top. They have the squad depth and Guardiola so I expect them to hang around.

Chelsea have the best 'battle hardness' in the league and that is a good thing because they know how to get over the line even if they are technically inferior. But with Kante protecting the defence and Hazard and Costa in 14/15 season form then they will also be there. But I still question their defence and mentality at times.

Spurs have a tight defence but lack goal scorers in their team and rely upon Kane and Alli for goals too much. But with a tight defence they'll always be in a game but with no abundance of goals in their team can't kill off a game. Such is their numerous draws this season.

Man Utd under Jose - well the title is gone for them but they will still compete for top 4. Thankfully for me Rashford and Martial their two best attacking players are quite peripheral under Jose and having that coward as manager will do them long term damage. But Pogba will only improve and Jose will be forced to play Rashford and Martial more and fuck off Rooney and Ibrahimovic so they will have the pace in attack to counter teams. I expect them to spend heavily in January.

So it is ultra competitive

AnfieldEd I think 4 are elite. Barcelona, Real, Bayern and Atletico. There is just no way Atletico is not elite (if by 3 elite you meant no Atletico in there). If anything, Bayern is the 4th best team in the world after the Spanish 3. No surprise they were eliminated by Real, Barcelona and Atletico, and just weeks ago they lost to Atletico again.

As for the Premier League, yea, it is ultra competitive. And I feel that the level is growing as well, so there is more of a gap now between the very good teams in the league (those for me are City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool) and the poorer teams like WBA, Sunderland and so on.

Arsenal has reached peak level in maturity and have made a top top signing with Mustafi. Just what they needed. They have arguably 2 of the best 5 attacking players in the league with Sanchez and Ozil. Big threat this season, if they don't find a way to shoot themselves in the foot like we very well know they can. But this season they have the best team since the Henry days.

United won't get top 4. They are the big team that is the farthest behind in terms of having a clear gameplan. You can tell what City are playing, what Arsenal are playing, or Liverpool, or Chelsea (who is getting back that strong defense and cutting edge counter style), or even Tottenham. Not United though, nobody knows what they are trying to do.

Neither Madrid team can be called elite. Both teams play long ball football. Compare it to the amazing aesthetics of Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool.

agreed

I personally can't see anything but any of the 3 spanish big 3 winning the CL. Bayern are great but i just don't think they can beat any of the Spanish teams
