I agree with everything you say, except the excessive emphasis on who the coach is.

But I will have to stress Liverpool's youthfulness once more. A somewhat ageing team, such as ours, cannot ever hope to match Liverpool's intensity, especially over a span of games. Even in a two-legged tie, there can be no other outcome than Liverpool more or less outrunning us. What is vital for us, is to keep this gap as small as possible, and hope that our small advantage in technical ability (mostly through Messi) will win the day.

The gap in midfield is not small. Liverpool's midfield can't keep the ball under pressure.

Man Utd going full force vs. West Ham since they really can't afford to rest their key players since it's a lot more important for them to be in the CL spot. Liverpool will also face the same problem. Every league matches are like the final for PL top teams at this point.

They left 5 players out compared to the 11 they started against us.

United will not make Top 4. Tottenham will make it and for the last spot will fight Arsenal and Chelsea (actually they both can make it if one of them will get Top 4 and other one will win Europa League).

Smalling played 90 (95) minutes, will be tired on Tuesday. Best ManU players are de Gea and Pogba, others not too impressive. We should be able to take them on Tuesday.

Did Pep just sub off Sané for John Stones to hold on to a 2:1 lead against Palace?

One more clue he might indeed be possessed by a Valverdian demon :)
