I think that at the top end in the Champions League we need to stop perpetuating the bs that Premier League teams hold an advantage due to wealth. It is, in fact, doing a disservice to the likes of Liverpool and Spurs.

We are talking about the 7th and 10th wealthiest clubs. Real Madrid have almost 250 million euros more annual revenue than Liverpool

People need to accept that Premier League clubs are now smart operators in the transfer market and appoint the right head coaches with long term vision. Spurs have barely spent anything yet they have a great team.

The top 6 is amazing this season, two are in CL final, two are in EL final, and two are in Manchester.

You are missing the point. The EPL can afford to have 6 very rich clubs, indeed, 6 of the Top 10 richest clubs in the world, are from the EPL. This stat on its own, tells you all you need to know. This simply means that every season (as things now stand) the EPL has at least 4 (maybe 5 in some cases) teams that can go for it. This is a luxury no other European league has or will have until such time as the financial gap closes somewhat (which according to latest reports, is indeed happening, but will take time to play out)

The thing about financial investment in football (or any other sphere for that matter) is that it takes time to bear fruit. The EPL has been outspending the rest of Europe for several years now. The results of this have become abundantly clear only this season (last season gave clear warnings as well) and will probably continue to show for a few years more.

Yes, Liverpool and Spurs have been more astute than other rich clubs in England or Europe, but that is my whole point. The EPL can afford to have teams that spend poorly (United) teams that spend with average success (Arsenal, Chelsea) and teams the spend well (City & especially Spurs & Liverpool) Whereas, say France, has to rely solely on PSG, Italy has to rely solely on Juventus, Germany has to rely solely on Munich and maybe Dortmund as well, Spain can rely (heavily) on Real Madrid & Barca and to a certain extent Atleti.

The way I see it, only challenge for the EPL clubs in the immediate future (next 5 years) can come from Primera sides, who after all dominated the past decade or so.

My argument is that wealth is not the main factor in Premier League success in Champions League this year. It is in the Europa League, however, of course.

What you say gives the impression that Premier League wealth is a quite recent development. EPL has been financially stronger than other leagues for 15 years. The last all english final was 11 years ago, when they were also heavy spenders and had 3 of the 5 richest clubs in the world.

If we break the top 11 richest clubs in the world into 2 categories: EU teams and English teams. Imagine it is like the Ryder cup with eu vs USA. These are teams that can realistically win the CL. The fact that it is an all english final is not because of wealth. It could be that putting so many wealthy teams in one league gives a competitive advantage and means teams are better prepared tactically and athletically. But it not directly due to wealth as there are plenty of eu big spenders

EU:

Real Madrid
Barca
Bayern
PSG
Juve

3, 005 billion euros

English:

Man Utd
Man City
Liverpool
Chelsea
Spurs
Arsenal

3, 199 billion euros

City will win anyway. Pep can field a second string XI and still win the league. Liverpool has to be the unluckiest competing against such a team

Here we go. Probably the most interesting day in the EPL this year.

EDIT: Tottenham open the scoring in 3th minute vs Everton. Eric Dier scores.
