I would disagree that Klopp is the better manager in every setting.

For aesthetics and sheer attacking dominance? No. For results (with entertainment and a good, sometimes great level of aesthetics)? Yes.

We probably go 3 out of 4 or 4 out of 4 in the CL under this version of Klopp from 08-12. He has a decided advantage to Pep in away games.

Let's see.

Barcelona:

Busquets - 31
Arthur - 23
De Jong - 22

25.3 average age

Liverpool:

Henderson: 29
Chamberlain: 26
Wijnaldum: 28

27.6 average age

Looks to me like our midfield is younger overall. So why does Liverpool's midfield is much more active and dynamic?

Accuse blokes of using stats out of content when that's exactly what you're doing right now.

-Busquets is washed and would not be able to press or run under any manager
-Arthur has had well documented stamina issues and he is not a workhorse type player whatsoever
-Only Frenkie could be converted into a midfielder that plays at the tempo, intensity and physicality required for this Liverpool side

That set of LFC midfielders despite being older are all workhorses that are naturally suited and capable of playing that style. Don't be daft mate.

If we had prime Vidal, prime Raki alongside De Jong your question would be valid. Not with this current crop of geriatrics and weaklings.

Prime Raki was never a workhorse of Pool's level either. But you couldn't resist that one, could you.

But Klopp wouldn't be able to build as great of a side as Pep did.

Under Klopp's coaching in his prime he undoubtedly had it in him to become that sort of midfield workhorse. Don't let post 2017 Rakitic cloud your judgment. Players like Busi, Arthur etc. simply aren't capable of playing that way regardless of coaching.

Here's some actual workhorses:

Lampard
Gattuso
Makelele
Kante
Essien
Vidal

Raki would be gassed trying to run as much as any of them.

Villarato!
Man, I hope Liverpool aren't getting a bit temperamental here. Hendo should have done better being so open, but I guess he was on his weak foot.

United need to create something going forward. All they do is hang for dear life.

Fuck me how is this Perreira playing for United? He is Southampton level.
