City have played well this season, but their back-line sucked.

The injury of Laporte, and the lack of any other reliable CB after Kompany retired, costed them many points.
That's why they are after Koulibali now.

We will see how they will do in the UCL.
I don't think under normal circumstances RM has a chance. But it would be interested to see if they can overcome Bayern

Needs to be paired with someone who is physically dominant. Not strong nor fast enough; therefore, he must be exceptional at reading attacks. A very risky bet.

Reading City forum. They think they are too predictable and slow. Imagine if they watch any Barca game. Mindblow for them how fast they are and how good workrate they have.n

My prediction is pool will not be able to maintain their level for more than one year at most. Team cycles usually last about 4 years when all the right players are close to their peak. Complacency will kick in and even klopp can't stop that.
Barcas decade of dominance is an anomaly caused by insanely talented players playing together all at there peak.

Of course that they are predictable and slow.
After 3 years, the opponents always figure out how to completely neutralize Pep's tactics.

I hope that Pep will stay for one more year.
To see whether he will add some new tactical ideas or he will play the same old thing which is not working anymore.

I am quite sure what will happen, but let's see.

Pep could follow Mou's path in 5 years.
His magic won't work anymore, since football has evolved and he stayed on the same place, stuck 10-15 years in the past.

He is staying for sure.
And yes, it will be an interesting year for him. First time to have 5th year as a coach. After showing decline in 4th year again.
He can win CL this year, though there will be an asterisk on whoever win it.

Its the same old discussion, but could you name a few managers who dont/didnt decline after 3/4 years? I dont think thats exclusive to Pep.

Ferguson.
Wenger did well with Arsenal for a long period of time too(before it started going downhill).

Thats a couple of managers.

Pretty smalll sample size. Ferguson is the one exception for me, mainly because he was bigger than the club. Wenger was decent over a longer stretch, but hardly inspiring and won just three league titles. Pep would get crucified for that.

Difficult to find a big sample size here, but if you are willing to search in less known leagues, i`ll give you Nils Arne Eggen, granted it was in Norway.

Thing is, as a fan I’d rather have a manager who peaks, wins loads of trophies then declines than a mediocre manager who stays on a similar level and isn’t half as successful.

Ferguson
Capello winning titles with 3 different Italian clubs, not only with the richest club of each country
Cruijff
Even Zidane is more impressive results wise, plus he is banging CLs even without Messi.

Pep won CLs with Messi.
And winning league titles with the richest clubs who would dominate either way with or without him.

We'll never see Pep lifting Roma or Tottenham to a league title.
His next job will probably be Juventus, Psg or an Nt job.
