It was his best position for United but with Ronaldo never work. Would need a proper CF that can run in behind and same on other side.

Probably the nearest role to what he was at Juve if allowed him freedom to move from there and LB/Shaw took all the width.

Yeah, I mean you could be right. His position has always been a nightmare for United, especially when they signed Bruno, and on the wing he does the least damage to the overall midfield structure while still being a pretty great allround footballer.

But it's hard to see a midfielder like him succeed long-term on the wing. It seems unnatural, but who knows.
