Pep thought he could let Sterling and Jesus go without problems.

Those two are actually huge losses for his system and great players and we are seeing that now.

Yeah they are so easy to dispossess in the final third without that extra man dropping between the lines.

Imo, Pep's system works perfectly only under two conditions:
1. When you have Messi
2. When you have 10 playmakers on a field who interchange positions, with a true No9

At City, he is in problems.
Without Messi, he'll never win a CL.
And it often seems that he lacks a killer finisher since majority of his players are attacking midfielders.

On the other hand, now with Haaland, he'll get some goals and individual stats.
But imo, City will lose tons of "that what made them City".

They'll be less fluid, less unpredictable, more static.

No matter what he does, Pep probably won't win it without young Messi.

He lost a big part of depth what made City so good.

This season will be super long with World Cup. He needs more reserve.. not less. Might cost him later.

He would've won it with Bayern if he didn't have to face MSN. History's best attacking trio.

I thought Cycliola/ Figuredoutiola wouldn't win any more league titles after 3-4 years according to you?

BBZ, you realize he's won like 4 Premier League titles in the last 5 years?

I am talking about a CL.

We all know that his style is a Goat style against bottom table teams/winning consistently against weaker teams, aka league championship.

Yeah they are so easy to dispossess in the final third without that extra man dropping between the lines.

They've lost the fluidity and numerical superiorities they had with the false 9. Part of their dominance was their attack being so active and versatile, and contributing to buildup and holding possession.

With a focal point 9 like Haaland, who doesn't move much/support the midfield, if he can't get service & isn't scoring goals, their attack becomes stagnant. He's hardly had a touch.

It's a much more coinflippy City than we've ever seen now for sure. Way less robotic and mechanical.
