3 peat against Klopp's Pool is top notch stuff.
He just needs to win 1 CL outside Barca to solidify himself as the GOAT manager
To be honest, it's tough for CL with him. Even Pep Barca had shades of bottling it, but they were simply too good to fail.
He has weaknesses as a manager, and it became apparent very early with the Eto'o shit. For CL you simply need players with backbone and ego, these are the players that step up when others bow their heads. And Pep doesn't like or know how to make these players his allies.
Maybe it's a treat of most great tacticians. They take away the pride from their players, because they want to be the ones pulling the strings and deciding things. Liverpool have same flaws and this is why they've been clowned by a not so great Madrid 3 times in 4 years.
It seems like City and Liverpool have a rehearsed plan drawn beforehand by Klopp and Pep, and when it doesn't work they have nothing extra in terms of match-winning ability from their players, because they teach their players to be overly systemic and disciplined. Madrid are the opposite. They encourage their players to step up individualy and claim the moment in games, turning the tables. Not everything in football is decided on the drawing board before games, and moments like Iniesta vs Chelsea or Eto'o's first goal vs United when he folds Vidic from a crap position are of incredible importance. They decide games at the highest level.
