Martinez will struggle a lot Vs taller attackers. Even today looked like Alba playing as a CB. Btw, that's not a compliment. :D

True, but it's due to how United play. They have this gung ho style without much order or organization. Almost like you have to deal with 1 vs 1 all the time.

Never seen a big team so crap with possession, with such poor buildup.

Guardiola is far too obsessed with having a left sided CB in the pair. It's bad enough when he weakens the team by putting Laporte in ahead of Stones, but Ake? That's just lunacy.

City's squad is a bit light, Liverpool should have the advantage this season as things are right now.

Time for pep to stop playing foden on the wings.

Also whoever was hyping grealish back in is villa talks, lol.

Agreed. They almost see this season as some sort of transition. If Haaland doesn't deliver big right away... I can see them struggling more.

Jesus how shit is Ederson.

Almost like a combination of Valdes and Stegen.

Goes in for a ball without any business of being there and catches an elbow in the eye from Dias.

Haaland this season will be like a driver who is used to driving Mazda Miatas and now he has to drive a truck without much practice.

Dembele is a new player since Xavi. If he gets his shooting straight and starts scoring goals, which he should with an improved team... not many better wingers frankly.

But Xavi should get a lot of credit for his progress.

Damn Haalands first touch is bad

Makes Dembele look world class

no free 10 meters on the break as in Bundesliga, courtesy of gegenpressing.

Dembele was the same for good 2-3 seasons. Attacking players from that league need time to stop being headless chickens, force of habit

It's hard. When you receive the ball in Bundesliga, you look up, you see open space because other fullback and midfielders tried to score and are somewhere in the opponent's half. And you relax prematurely. In other leagues a bad first touch = turnover. Teams are far more preoccupied with defending.

Haalands needs to realize Bundesliga is not what top tier leagues are about. You have to work hard for a clear chance. Which is why you have to be more focused and composed when it arrives.

True. Germany acres of space.

Looks like City is playing with man less with Haaland. It's odd.
