I don't get why Pep doesn't switch Gvardiol and Ake. The latter is far more mobile with the ball.
It's awkward to see a body like Gvardiol there on the left flank.
OK, prob Pep has sth in mind that has to do with his passing ability, but it still strikes me as odd

Rodri's passing is so good, he sees the little passes that only, Alonso, Xavi, Iniesta at their best sees.

Basically Spanish players type passing.

Frenksters been doing much better passes than those in recent times.

Rodri this season better going forward but been vacating DM more and quite a few goals City have conceded folk would be screaming if he was a Barca player.

Not that is it his fault as clearly being asked to play a new role and impossible to be given more freedom and then defend and position like a DM.

When he’s not able to dribble past a man he’s pretty poor as his end product is too inconsistent.

He had plenty of 1 vs 1 situations but I guess the opponents are a higher level than most of EPL, which they probably are tbh.

Pep still searching for the defensive balance in this side.

It has gone a bit when Rodri is given more freedom to get forward.

Usually around now he does and settles on tactics to be fair.
