De Bruyne is definitely an all time great, however, he’s got to be selected as an attacking mid in these world teams not a traditional central midfielder.
Comes alive in the final third, tries a lot of risky passes etc. Not uncommon for his passing % to be in the 70%-80% range because of the nature of them.

One of the reasons city didn't win more is because he came up small in many big moments in the CL for them and we all know he doesn't show up for Belgium.

But yea his talent definitely deserves at least one.

I have to disagree with that, if you look at last years:

In 2019: 3 assists when they won 4-3 but lost the tie because of crap defence

In 2020 against Lyon best man imo, created a few good chances + scored the only goal, his team mates were not on his level

In 2021 against Chelsea he was bad in cl final

In 2022 against Real in first leg a goal + assist, in second leg Real scored all 3 when he wasnt on the pitch anymore

In 2023: injured in cl final

So all in all only in 2021 he underperformed, he is definitely a big game player

Like I said, this forum ain't ready for that conversation.

Lol you just can't name them, who are you gonna say he's better than re Barcelona, Iniesta? That's just bat shit crazy right there.

You tend to try to down play players who win, because most of the players you rate, just haven't won as much despite being in similar quality teams as those you think they're better than, who has the medals to go along with their talent.

But we should ignore that part?.

Winning is what separates the greats from the World class and the world class from the very good.

KDB is definitely the best Midfielder of his generation though, came up small for city and Belgium multiple times in the big competitions, but he has time to correct that with city at least.

Fair enough.

I'm not trying to shit on him, he's easily the best of his generation, not even close.

One of the best ever, but on the lower end of that list.

Those are team trophies.

Rating individuals solely based on team trophies is dumb lol. Not like KDB doesn't have trophies.......

Pique will never be greater than Nesta/Stam.

Giroud will never be greater than Totti/Kane.

Cracking game. The pace, the intensity, this is why EPL is no1.
Great game. No stupid goals, no set piece goals. All 5 goals were top drawer stuff. And magical on the 3 MC goals— Silva's flick, De Bruyne's nutmeg pass into the corner from distance, Bobb's amazing feet.

Would like to see magic at Barca again.

Man City are just inevitable

No one is on their level, but there's quite a few right below.

Tier 1
Man City
------------------
Tier 2
Real Madrid
Liverpool
Arsenal
Bayern
---------------
Tier 3
Barcelona
Inter
Leverkusen

City have had their problems this season particularly defensively.

Think Bayern by a long way are best placed to give City their toughest tie and those two the standout pair in CL.

Real I really dont think have been all that great... they are a bit like Barca were at times last season and winning narrowly at times and teams missing a chances v them.
