Maresca is doing basically what Xavi was trying to do at the start of the season, just slightly different ways to get to the same end point, which isn't a surprise, pretty much all coaches are doing the same thing, pep clones.

RB(cancelo) moves to the middl, to form a double pivot with the DM, to protect against transitions.

The right winger hugs the touch line
LB balde pushes forward for width on the left

Setup frees up pedri, gundogan and Gavi to dominate midfield and get into the box to help lewa.

It just wouldn't land with the players and injuries probably also played a part.

I wonder what tactical innovation pep will revive again and have everyone copy him lol

Apparently slot is interested in Olmo, isn't slot one of the new hippie managers? Maybe xavi was on to something with this olma chap.

You are high again and don't realize what you are uttering

If that Leicester was given to xavi last summer, they would be relegated to championship2 and not promoted to EPL right now

Klopp: “ We should be really happy that we have these owners & not guys who bought London clubs & other stuff. I wouldn’t have survived a year at Liverpool (with them in charge). ‘Great development but not good enough, sack him!’ A year later: ‘Sack him’. Then finally they play football where people think they might be back and they sack the manager anyway." (@TransferSector)

LOVE THIS GUY!

Anyone who doesn't understand why managers need TIME to build something and win, are clueless

What are you on about, I said they are both using a copy of pep's full back inverting to form a double pivot.

Which is a actual fact, what you talking about relegation and Xavi

Jeeezas get a grip bro

Poor reply.
He had his time.
2.5 years, and the football was regressing, instead of progressing.
Only in his first 6 months we saw some true progress in the football played.
Then it was all regression

Sounds like you are describing ETH timeline at United here, exact same story-line, great start, then regression.

Yes they won a trophy a few days ago, but you can see the difference between that, and playing great football.

Nah, totally different

Xavi played good football for 2 months in his first season. And that's it.
ETH played good football for his whole first season

Then, Xavi got what he wished exactly through the levers to supposedly raise the level of the team, and instead he delivered worse football. And then he demanded more players, and more transfers.

ETH was plagued by injuries and bad squad planning in the 2nd season, squad planning which people above like SDs were totally responsible.

And the most importance point of difference: ETH played in EPL not in the new farmers league of LL
So, uncomparable

Eth football has improved, but need at least not have half team injured to see it and have enough players available to play the brand of football. Overall passing improved. Bruno’s role improved. Youngsters steadily developed.

No, they played good football for the first half, then they regressed.

Also, farmers league, where one team wins all the titles?

Every team have injuries, heck, RM hasn't had a real backline for half the season, and Birdy simply can't stop hating on Ancelotti 24/7 regardless.

Now, was there anything else?

That's not comparable again.
Madrid's depth is thrice UTD's depth. ETH had to play kids like Maino due to injuries

Of course UTD's football this season was <<< last season. If you follow my posts in EPL thread you will see my criticsm.

But he resorted to that due to problems. Xavi didn't try to change style of play because of injuries.
He was still trying to play his football
You are comparing apples with oranges here
