If Arsenal were a strong team (by title winning standards) they wouldn't be this far behind. The PL is stronger than it has ever been in the middle, in my opinion. But the top and bottom is weak relative to previous seasons.

I suppose you can argue the middle looks better BECAUSE it's easier to take points off the top and bottom now. But sides like the three Bs, Fulham and even Palace are good now.

I feel for that 1.2% of realistic Arsenal fans every week. I have nothing against that club, but I hate the 98.8% delusional part of the fanbase and therefore hope that they still don't win anything for a while.

The majority (as you imply) are incredibly delusional and get very carried away at any positive signs.

Congrats to Newcastle, their first ever trophy I think?

Glad for Isak as well

As for Pool, no words. This downfall in just one season is crazy. They are very lucky competition was shitty and they very much confirmed the title so early. If Arsenal was a little closer I'd bet on them to win it now, but it's too late.

Not their first ever trophy - first domestic trophy since 1955. They won the Fairs Cup too in 1969.

Slotty was a wee bit arrogant first half season when things were going their way.

Test was always going to be how they dealt with adversity. And we saw it in the Cup collapses. May have happened too in the PL but Arsenal done an Arsenal.

Not all on his shoulders though, got no recruitment and done a hell of a job rejevenating Salah, getting Gravenberch to form, etc.

In the end board did him no favours by not getting him a piece or two come winter.

Next season we see his level, now honeymoon is over.

But still a huge league win. @Temptation

PS. Read in Graeme Souness accent for maximum effect.

Season was still a decent success for Pool.

Big 20th title to becoming most winning club in England.

Next season is looking brutal though with the core probably gone.

Expected a loss after the cl exit, players still have the psg game in head

But dont trust this Slot guy, lets see how he performs next season

Reds deserve Epl title though, they are the strongest team in England and this core deserves more than 1 pl title

Slot learned the old lesson that Fergie was teaching: 'Never let your team peak early in the season, but late'.
Pool picked Oct-Jan, and went out of form since Febr.

They will win the league now, but the lesson is to be remembered

PS: Slot's work has been immense given this squad wasN'T designed for his football, but for Kloppball, and he got 0 transfers from FSG in two transfer windows.
Don't downplay that

Good post.

We peaked super early too, had a bigger dip run of results and turned it around though.

So I think that leaves a question mark for Slot too though, as the downward trajectory has been slow but steady for a while now.

It all came a bit easy too early I guess. Their big wins in Europe, PSG and Real, out of form.

Their big win domestically in City, proven to be way off the pace this season.

We peaked in Sept-Oct, but that lasted much less than Pool's peak from Oct to Jan

Might be part of the reason, we are peaking now also
