Messi joining PSG is good for Barca. It means Mbappe might extend to play in this crazy Trio and be CL favourites, and not join Madrid for free next year.

As I said on another thread, Mbappe might not want to share more limelight with yet another star (Messi) after having to share that with Neymar. If he wants to be the one and only star and the center of all attention, he will go to Real Madrid.

Funnily enough, while i'm happy about Messi joining PSG, i don't think this attack will do much in CL. In CL you need the team to be compact, cohesive. PSG will be everything but compact. Still huge weak links in LB and midfield too.

Messi is an historical player, so it feels nice about him choosing PSG.

Make no mistake, it is not that he chose PSG, PSG is the only club that realistically can sign him. Pep doesn't want him, Chelsea and United are just rumor, PSG has got both the moolah and the will to sign him, of course it is going to PSG.

Not to mention he has his friends in Paris so it is much easier for him to fit in there.

Galactico teams have won CLs in the past. And PSG already made a final and a semi in the past 2 seasons. If they fail again with these transfers... will be superfunny.

After years I tried to understand why Qatar wants to invest in a football Club. I asked myself is sportwashing even worth it.

My conclusion it's definitely worth it, Qatar Image is changing since they took over PSG. That's why the Saudis wants to buy Newcastle.

Dont think Qatars image has changed for the positive at all. If anything vast majority dont like their involvement and it is highlighting along with WC the conditions there.

Well the Sportwashing is working for Abu Dhabi and Qatar.

Dubai was a desert years back , now it's a holiday City . Qatar has now good relationships with France Goverment.

Saudi Arabia realised it too and now wants a World Cup and takeover Newcastle. Their emergency Plan is a Serie A club if PL keep on blocking the takeover

Well Dubai modernisation plans started before the Arab football investments. I think it is the Abu Dhabi group behind City and not Dubai though.

They are definitely using the clubs as a vehicle to build business opportunities to the Nth degree.

Peter Lim intention was the same with Valencia, as was Tony Fernandes with QPR and Al Fayed back with Fulham in the early 2000s, but they didn't/don't have the capital to fully exploit it.

For the Arabs it is about building sustainability for long term income post oil reserves.

The Saudi getting into football is similar, with their new crown prince being closer to the US, moving away from Islam and opening the country to new streams with events like Boxing, WWE and perhaps a football club as a vehicle for European partnerships.

Whatever the reasons are, if he signs for PSG, it is because it was his choice.

And i don't think the royal family member would jump the gun if he wasn't sure. So in my book, it is done.
