PSG too won the league multiple times and reached the CL final. So their methods also almost worked.

You mean that fucked up condensed season where Choupo Moting saved them in the dying moments from another embarrassment vs an Atalanta who were physically spent?

That CL shouldn't count the same as other CLs. One legged ties, no fans in stadiums. None of what makes the CL, the CL.

Funny enough is that the best bang for buck signing they've made is that Mendes kid. Hakimi, who was supposed to be this world class RB/WB, has disappointed massively.

Man City under Pep really hasn't been much better than PSG in the CL. This season might change things but both teams have had 1 CL final appearance plus some embarrassing losses. Of course, Man City is in a good position to change that narrative this season, but they still have to do it.

Sure, the difference is City play in and dominate a league that gave the last two real CL winners. The last 2 geniune CL finals (no covid bullshit season) were all English affairs.

PSG play and dominate mustard Dijon and Evian spring waters. And even that to not the same standard as City .

Agree with that. Pep and Man City have been great in the league.

But my post was in relation to a few posts denigrating PSG's CL performances while propping up Man City. Comparing the two clubs in Europe, they are roughly even.

City put out PSG last year and gone further than PSG in 4 of last 5 seasons where PSG had three last 16 KOs.

Only season PSG went further was the covid season.

Luck of the draw. Getting further in the CL to get knocked out by Monaco, Tottenham, and Lyon isn't what I consider outperforming PSG by any stretch of the imagination.

Nah City finished above them in group to get better draw.

While City have put out likes of Real who knocked PSG out.

They have gone further in CL in 4 of last 5 seasons and put them out last season and finished above them in group this season.

Definitely been better than them bar that one covid hit season.

17/18- Both finish 1st in the group. PSG got the much tougher draw in the Ro16.
18/19- Both finish 1st in their groups. PSG got the slighter tougher draw Ro16, but it was a disappointment to lose to Man U.
19/20- Both finish 1st again. PSG got easier draw. Went on to the final.
20/21- Both finish 1st again. PSG got tougher draws in the Rof16 and QF, but did lose in the SF to Man City.
21/22-Both in the same group. Man City finish 1st by 1 point. They finished 1-1 in H2H group stage play.

Man City is slightly better and the only reason for that is this year's group stage. But really, both teams have been the same ballpark performance wise in the CL so far.

Aye moaning about 'tougher draw' when PSG get punted by Man Utd.

Moan about draws all you like the fact is City gone further in 4 of last 5 seasons and put PSG out in one of them and finished above them in group this year.

City been better and PSG had x3 last 16 KOs.

Going further in 4 of 5 seasons is not 'slightly better' and happened again this season.

Luck of the draw is important to how far a team goes in the CL. If you are comparing two teams that haven't won the title, simply saying one went further than the other is a dumb argument. Lacking context.

Tougher draws, more injuries for PSG. City have lost much easier CL ties. Losing to Monaco, Tottenham, and Lyon as heavy favorites is much more embarrassing than whatever PSG has done.
