Not my biggest issue.. but treating people terribly for their gender, sexuality and race is. And I know you will counter this by saying how shitty the West has been - and you are right - but the naivety in me wants our civilization to progress towards human decency while our system seems virtually unfixable.
Western Europe isn't perfect by a long shot, but at least you don't get stoned to death for being gay, but I guess Quatar isn't the worst of the lot.

- The west treats people poorly according to gender, sexuality, and race. Especially the latter, where systemic racism has plagued black and brown people for hundreds of years.
- People aren't stoned to death in Qatar as far as I know, but western countries are still illegally invading and destroying sovereign countries

Eh, there are levels to it. Don't care about the last hundred years either, we are living now. As a German we have an abhorrent history, but learned our lesson reasonably well (again, it's not perfect and we still have enough shit going on with treating minorities... also don't put Western Europe in the same boat as the fucking US of A).
But yeah, as I said Quatar isn't the worst of the lot. Could have been worse aka being the toy of Mohammed bin Salman.

- The illegal invasion of Iraq wasn't long ago. Nor conflicts in Libya, Yemen, Palestine, etc.
- I appreciate you acknowledging it. Too many people hide their bigotry behind hypocrisy and willful ignorance. If you don't like PSG because they're owned by Qatar, fine, just stop pretending to care about labor exploitation. It's too obvious.
