Quique Setien

But you believed in another idiot called fraudverde, even though we played like shit, got dominated by small teams, got the biggest humiliations in Barca's history. I didn't hear you singing the blues as you do now for QS.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt since we were winning the league comfortably and also had some good games under him. I don't think I praised the football we played under him though. Should have been fired after the Anfield disaster.
It’s true I've been battering Setien since his signing because I believe(with the current squad) we need something different. The current performances shows that we are going nowhere with him.

Seems like the seniors are grinding to a halt some of the early impressions that Setien left. Needs to get a grip on things as more Valverde aspects are creeping in as the weeks go on.

One thing though that Valverde improved upon from LE was varying the salida of ter Stegen with more long balls. Sometimes there isn't a clear exit from the goalkeeper and you have to play it long for territory and re-positioning. Setien seems that he wants 100% build up from the back, inviting pressure so you create a space further up field. When it works it is fantastic, but 1 or 2 times PER GAME, you will give away a strong turnover. We can't afford this.

Oh, and more Ansu please.

He's clearly changed his mind on this, as is logical. Against Sociedad there were a lot more long balls.

There was a noticable change in attitude in Setien's first game. Players ran more for each other, pressed harder and played more courageous passes. They looked like they wanted something and had the balls to go for it, even if they didn't really know how. That positivity seems to have diminished already, making way for the return of the languid neutrality of Valverde's side already.

9 out of 10 actions we have (passes, on the ball movement, off the ball movement) are neutral. They add nothing. They are disinterested, disspirited, pessimistic, resigned to the status quo of the situation. Pique twice refusing to play Semedo against La Real who was making runs down the line perfectly exemplifies the dominating mood of our game.

Messidependencia has a lot of adverse effects, and one of them is that we rationalize from the fact that he is involved in all our goals the logic that we can't score goals without him. We explain that with the idea, that we need to do something genius to score a goal. That we need that extraterrestial touch for a real chance to be created. We don't believe that ordinary balls down the line will lead to anything. It can't be that simple, we need something special that apparently no other team needs. That which only Barca can do. If there's no scope for the extraordinary, then we don't play that pass. Every play must be flavoured with our secret ingredient. What's a simple line against the architecture of the master creator?

We overcomplicate, overthink, and under-act. We don't believe that our actions can lead to goals, because they aren't genius enough.

First in the League again.. not sure what we need to do to lose it at this point..
La Liga has really dropped in level and that affects Barca too, it makes us think we are good enough for cl.

That is easy, it takes a few points dropped against Sevilla and Villarreal away soon to go behind again. Or we could lose next week against Mallorca away, Real Madrid lost there too.

Only foolish betting sites think we would do well in CL. We need a miracle.

True, first game in charge we had like 70% possession and still run as much as oponent, then less and less.

Hes doing a good job (as shown by the stats). He learned quickly that three at the back doesnt work and toned down his "madness" to a more conservative approach. Plus hes not toxic like Valverde. Still not my dream coach, but if we win the league I wouldnt mind him for another season.
