The 442 with all amigos just reeks of Setien trying to avoid a hammering while keeping old core happy.
There's no good option. This year we are outclassed A bit by Bayern.

Well, he got in conflict with them and he got owned.
What were the amigos complaining again? Why they hate Setien? Because they can't run anymore or want to?
They wanted to decide things in the team far beyond their role as a players, which they did under EV. Setien and his staff probably were too commanding for their liking. They needed to correct that.

Well, he got in conflict with them and he got owned. To the point of the veterans refusing to listen to instructions. This is the team of the veterans, no two ways about it.
Nah, also doesnt justify how he made cowardly subs, cant recall him making subs that changed the game and him professing his love for Busquets since Day 1 like how EV is with Rakitic.

Personally, I hope Ten Hag or Xavi will take over in 2021 along with a new board. This will hopefully lead to a clearing out of the squad (Suarez, Raki, Vidal, Busi, Alba, Pique etc.) and a new more visionary sporting project.
However if Setien gets the sack now, I've always thought it would be interestin to see how Michael Laudrup would do. Big name, played under Cruyff and has a great football mind. Also had some very good spells as a coach with Swansea, Getafe and Mallorca. More of a visionary guy, and less pragmatic than Koeman. Would even fit BBZ's theory that midfielders do better as coaches than CB's or GKs. He has a bit of reputation for clashing with the board at times at the club, as he doesn't want to make too many compromises, and usually does best the first 1-2 years. I don't see this a bad thing atm tbh as our last two coaches have been complete pushovers.
