that is a great move by seville as kanoute is getting older and you never now what you are getting from fabiano.

Like the 4th time you say he has moved Gio, everytime to a different team. Is it for real this time or...? ;)

I have a few comments about the highlights Beast -
1. After years of dull and boring football, the first and second goals are probably the best pieces of football Madrid has played.
2. Funny that after wearing bwin on his shirt for 2 different clubs, plus the nature of his move to Madrid, Kaka should still do his I belong to Jesus/God celebration.
3. Cristiano Ronaldo is a twat.
4. Real Madrid look genuinely dangerous, not just the usual 'all guts, comeback-style, constant threat' dangerous, but actual, footballing dangerous.

By the way do you remember when I said many posts ago, at the start of the transfer season, that Madrid will once again be neglecting their cantera, and using the players as bargaining chips or considering them as deadwood, with the customary buy-back clauses? Well it does seem indeed that it was all just Pérez election propaganda after all...

some observations on your comments Peter

1- the first goal was brilliant a very Zidanesque pass from Kaka.. that's why i wanted a similar player .. that blind pass says it all and break defenses , the second was a brilliant shot from Robben (who is coming out of age nicely )

2- no comment :D
3- Cristiano Ronaldo IMHO is shitting in his pants.. he is very afraid very very afraid.. he is afraid to take down opponents even easy ones.. the pressure is mounting and IMO my earlier prediction of January will come true.. thankfully he isn't the only dangerous player ..same i think applies for Benziza.. to give an example see Higuain performance in pre-season until he scored in NY game and afterwards .

4- well we did buy cracks and to combine them with what he had it could be quite good as an outcome .. but it will take some time much more than one game vs B Dortmund away.

5- the Cantera situation are better as a whole IMO..
u have Javi Garcia who never really impressed on the senior level so no one cried when he left in fact it was a great piece of business to get 7 Million out of him .
Parejo want to our farmland (Getafe ) to get more playing time and we took back Granero who is currently an integral part of the first team so it's a better step up for both players and the club.
Arbeloa (our cantera came back home ) .
Negredo he specifically asked to leave to get more minutes, the boy is ambition and Real intention after the consistent impressive displays was to keep him but Alvaro is looking towards being part of the world cup and that won't happen if he is behind Higuain and Benzema in the packing order. if Real was really keen on selling him for good after the first month we would have offered him without the buyback clause which could have generated more money for the club..

Hmm yes I didn't know Kaká would be so classy, only thing remains to be seen is whether he can avoid injury. HOwever, i believe he is 100% perfectly suited to La Liga. I've always feared him more than CR.
Who as you said is very afraid - well rightfully so, since he's had such a loud mouth all along, and then finally Ferguson, his loving daddy, shows he doesn't really give a crap about him anymore; well who's baby CR gonna run to now if he underperforms or makes a mistake..?
Yes the Dortmund match isn't really the best indicator, but that was real quality from you guys...

Hmm well my belief is that nothing much has changed - either your cantera simply isn't good enough, or the club management will not have confidence in your youth players, barring a few select ones, many of whom aren't directly originating from the cantera itself, in that they've pursued their careers elsewhere at first.

Kaka was buried in Milan .. when we debated him i said that much.. he needs proper team to shine again i hope he continue
The elsewhere effect has proven to be a great move in recent years Peter, in one hand no pressure on the Cantera development (compared to Madrid ) , the club gets money and whoever prove he is Madrid material head back to the team.
it proven success with De La Red (until cut short due to his sudden illness ) and once again with Granero ,Negredo and to a lesser extent Arbeloa ..
those who can't cut it continue as they are like Balboa , Juanfran and Adrian Gonzalez ..
u also need to remember that Real invested the last few years in many unproven young players like Higuain (19 ) Marcelo (18 ) Drenther (19) Ramos (19 ) .. all came out good and looked upon as our own
when u have an excellent first team squad and quite a strong bench it's really hard to get minutes and cantera without minutes means they lose form and the skill fade ..
u all saw what happened to Bojan last year with few minutes .. the year before it under Frank he was the shit.. now not that much even with Spain ..
i think what u did with K9 is a leaf from our book and it's quite a good move for the kid and u ..
i also think one of the positives this summer was the number of Spanish players bought Arbeloa-Albiol-Xabi-Granero .. something we didn't do in quiet some time ..

I hope he doesn't continue ;)

Yes that's true, everything you say is valid about the cantera, however Barcelona fans, and the club as a whole, likes to use their cantera as an example, and as an element of competition. Just like Madrid will be boasting about their CLs, Barca will boast about the masia. So in the end, while the current policy may work (including the purchase of young players) it is also an acknowledgement of defeat to Barcelona. If people say "youth squad" or "youth academy", they will likely associate the word with Barca in the future, or even now, if this keeps going on. And not Madrid. At the same time it is also more expensive for Madrid to buy young players, than for Barcelona to raise them from childhood and incorporate them into the squad. And above all, it can affect the philosophy of the club - Barcelona with its academy really can be mès que un club, and it can be a massive institution with generations of young players aspiring to play for the first team, and believing they can really be a part. Whereas however great Madrid as a team are, there is a risk of the club staying just a club and nothing more. Excluding of course the massive political and media influence etc...
This is indeed an exaggeration and merely a possibility for the distant future, but if the cantera in Madrid is constantly regarded as something to be judged with logic and practicality - i.e. no pressure because of not having to concentrate on it, making use of the youth players in transfer deals etc. then it will be only Barcelona who can use their youth academy as a consistent source of talent. Imagine what a gulf it could create if such an extreme were to happen to Real.

Though it probably won't...
