I will be supporting Real Madrid in la liga next year. Even though Barca are/were my spanish club, I have never hated Real Madrid and always admired their history and traditions. I hate Perez though and his philosophy on football.

But anyway I shall give my la liga support to Real next season. A lot of barca fans in general, in here and in my family are getting too big for their boots and far too arrogant. Arrogance is a good thing when handle with a touch of humility, but that has gone downhill fast with people I know. So I believe they need a good kicking down a peg or two.

Not so much with people here as you can't fully judge a person you don't know on the internet, but more specifically family and friends of my wife's family.

Is that you Ed? Won't your wife be furious if she saw you making that post under her name? haha.

Anyway, I agree with some of what you said in the other thread about the hypocritical claims of Barca fans regarding Real Madrid, especially considering some of business deals Barca has been involved in lately.

How is it about the Mourinho rumours?
Has he signed yet?
Is it 100% he is coming to Madrid now or still rumours?

Footballers are generally too stupid to have principles and what few they have can usually be overcome with a slightly heftier signing on fee. His return to San Mames may well make the receptions for Sol and Pigo look like welcome home parties though :D Gora Athletic!

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww ... it's ok Eddy ... I'm sure that the current owners of Liverpool will use the money from Torres' sale wisely to re-structure the club and allow them to build a strong youth system and a stable link between owner --> sporting director --> manager --> tactical fluency ... now quit your whining and pour yourself a glass of 21 year old.

better yet ... just come to my rum shop

Doesn't that apply to most everybody? Principles go out the window for a chance at more material propriety and status. Is this not true for most: politicians, musicians, athletes, 'intellectuals,' artists, engineers, cops, medical professionals, teachers? Most all people are mercenaries in our world. The constructs of our relations ask that from us. It is a societal problem, you can't pin it on one type small sector of people.

By saying "footballers are too stupid to have principles," you are implying that footballers don't have the mental capacity of non-footballers. Is that really true?

Footballers are generally lacking in education because the nature of the game demands they cease academic study at a very early stage. I'm not saying all footballers are stupid, just most, hence the word "generally".
