actually it does make sense, baring in mind, that canales is expected to act as guti replacement, not as a winger and that mourinho is reported to want cristiano on the left side in order to use his shooting, running and cutting in better. so you have

your "unless someone leaves" is granero (currently "mr. X"). if your tipped 1 or 2 castilla players (marcos alonso gains monumentum, now that kolarov seem like a done deal for city and chelsea rate a. cole around 36m €) get promoted (for home grown rule reasons), granero will be sold and leaves a right wing spot open.

i don't see the replacement for kaka as logical. baring in mind, that the david silva deal failed because of mourinhos "no". why would he turn down david silva as playmaker when he aims to replace kaká? moreover, mourinho was reported to have "promised" pérez to get the best out of benzema & kaká. nah, he'll stay unless his injury turns out to be worse and kaká useless or there is some mind blowing offer.

lass, m. diarra & drenthe are top of the list to leave, followed by gago & VdV, depending on the circumstances. gago depending on how many CMs/DMs join and VdV on the money offered.

but seriously, like i said to gio...i only share with you what i catch up on. and apperently, jesús navas is still an option, depending on the circumstances...not certain to join!!! but an option.

Balotelli got a lot of playing time even when he was an asshole and third choice behind Ibra-Adriano and third choice behind Milito-Eto'o ,same for Santon till his injury

almost every possible signing that i named in that conversation was tied to conditions, not certain! lots of them depended on mourinho giving his "yes" or "no". remember pedro león? the deal is long done, the only thing that remained unclear was 1) mourinho saying yes or no and 2) will he be loaned back or stay. both came up in the press yesterday.

if marcos alonso really is off to bolton, then granero stays. like i said, he only will be sold if another RM cantera player replaces him in terms of the home grown rule.
i doubt marcos alonso will leave tbh...the club blocked his move to depor during the winter and now to benfica. same for sarabia. it seems like the club has something else in mind for these 2.
