They won’t get Saliba. He’d be too expensive. Madrid are savvier than that when it comes to defensive signings.

Correct not at that price. Very good defender but not worth the 100 million plus that he’d cost given the length of his contract and current hype and he isn't infallible either although Arsenal fans like to pretend he is. Last time Madrid actually spent money on a central defender was Militao almost six years ago now and that will be at the third of the price Arsenal would demand.
Players like Saliba are great but they do not transform their team enough to justify paying massively inflated price tag.

Well Van Dijk transformed us completely. 75 mil looks like a bargain in hindsight.

But Real Madrid don't need transforming that's the point. They had the best defensive record in the league last year with a makeshift defence and won the double. Van Dijk and Allisson were the missing pieces for you at the time.

Van Dijk will still be killing it at that age. Think Pepe but with even slower decline. Just a matter of whether van Dijk is willing to go on that long
