Hang Perez, nah I'm kidding obviously, he's just moving with the times.
But that's what Barca fans especially those on here would say if Laporta did this.
Kinda like Perez 400m 20 year lever with 6th street and no Madrid fan batted an eye at it, because it was obviously the right thing to do.
He's probably doing to so something like this before he retires from Madrid, and give them a massive winfall of cash.
Which is just a back door "lever" to be clear.

We will see if it is the right move with time. The only reason they will accept it is because they worship Perez, when 90% of his success was due to Zidane and Ancelotti.
Barca, RM & Bilbao remains 3 of the most financially stable clubs in Spain, even Osasuna is doing well in comparison to their peers. Barca obviously had a set back during Covid, but that was fixable with Levers, and the only reason we still hear about it because Laporta pushes the limit with first team budget.
Those 4 clubs are the only ones that are fan owned btw.
So, the whole "moving with times" might not end up being accurate. And Perez might just be pulling the ladder for future presidents.

I see what you're saying, but this is just the way sport is going right now.
The NFL, which as we know is the richest sport league in the world, just opened itself to private equity for the first time in its history.
All top teams and sport leagues around the world are looking at these type of outside investment as a way forward.
He's just adjusting Madrid for the future, instead of selling TV rights or whatever else, let's just sell 20-30% of real Madrid stocks to XYZ.

For those who can see through the Barca online cuckery and the Media controlled pro Flo bias, Laporta has always been well clear of Flo as a club president.
Would love to see Flo handle what Joan had to pick up from Bartomeu. Would have taken him 5 years minimum to rebuild.
