The scandal behind the referees comes from the pro-madrid press and how selective their "mistakes" are. Pedro's goal against sporting was not offside, yet MARCA went as far as editing the grass marks out of the video to label the goal as offside; while AS ignored basic rules of perspective, tracing the offside line parallel to the midfield line. Against Espanyol, a video showing the defender pulling on Xavi's shirt and breaking his balance was shown on neutral press, while pro-madrid press chose the exact angles (deliberately or not) where the shirt-tug was invisible.

This campaign is the same as last year's canguelo, "how to lose 3 titles in 10 days" Marca article, how madrid had prepared a celebration in Cibeles BEFORE el clasico and countless of times the madrid press has campaigned against barcelona. Its no different, it hurts them to see a 300 million euro team 5 points behind.

More like Athletic got screwed by the ref since Pique should be sent off and your first goal was from offside.

The ref made lots of mistakes and there shouldn't even be an argument, because clearly Barca was the one to profit from them.

A good run by Torquero called offside and it wasn't more off than Alves's run for the first goal. A red card on Pique only a yellow.

The ref had questionable calls made all night for both teams.
