He's not as good as Rooney and he isn't as consistent as Rooney either.

For me Rooney is just as good as Messi,maybe Messis has a little bit more skill but Rooney is the most complete player in the world.

Come on man. Saying Van Persie is as good as Rooney is kind of delusional, but saying Rooney is as good as Messi is equally ore more delusional.

At the end of the day, consistency is what matters most and just like Van Persie's few months of good form aren't enough to be on a par with Rooney, Rooney has never managed to reach a level of outrageous brilliant consistency that even warrants a comparison with Messi.
