2006 was Cannavaro. 2018 Salah was broken in the final and non existent in the world cup, didn't have strong case to win despite his incredible season. 2019 and 2021, Messi clear both.

In 2006 Cannavaro got relegated with Materazzi winning the final taking the bald noggin for the team. Ronaldinho won it in 2005 while 2006 is when Barca won the double. Should have been Etoo or Ronnie.

I don't think Messi did much in 2021. They won a Copa on penalties while Kante led Chelsea to the CL.
