Ronald Koeman

Honestly, I feel bad for managers in the current football world.
The majority of big teams are full of joke level players who would have never played there 10, 20, or 30 years ago.
The level of football is so, so low it makes me difficult to watch football passionately nowadays.

Mate, so true. 100%.

Defences nowadays are a joke.
Can anyone explain why football today is of a lower quality than yesteryear?

It is not Koemans fault if our players miss chance after chance and can't even score from the spot.
He's had only ONE signing. People need to cut him some slack.

He agreed to let Suarez go and not try to use him as a sub with lower wages. He also wanted to loan out 3 of our youth midfielders, 2 of which, especially pedri, stayed.
The finishing part, is something everyone who understood our past season stats, it was obvious that Messi and Suarez carried the attack, and no one else could score. So, removing Suarez with no replacement, having a derpresed one year older Messi, was ALWAYS gonna lead us to less scoring. This has been pointed out and only people that though Messi is the core of our problems didn't see it.
Our defense has been worse than ever, and slightly improved when the pique, Busi, lenglet trio was dismantled due to injury. So, all the theories about pressing from the front and fancy stuff were proven categorically wrong too.
Koeman had a hard task, which he didn't make any easier on himself with his own planning.

Suarez leaving was correct from club and Koeman.

Barca are pressing more from front and midfield despite still lacking a CF.

Pedri would never have gone on loan and won Koeman over. Suggesting loan to 17 year old from Segunda and then changing mind quickly when saw him train is nothing. That point is completely irrelevant and Pedri is a plus point for Koeman who has placed a lot of trust in him.

Araujo was chosen ahead of Lenglet and not just down to injury. Again more trust placed in younger players.

Keeping Messi and Suarez as again two thirds of attack would have been wrong option. There was never the option of 'a sub with lower wages' for Suarez.

About Suarez, if being an impact sub with lower wages was never an option, it was a good call, but we don't know that, since he is exactly that at atletico.

About Araujo, Pique was injured and lenglet was worse than a segunda player, so we could give credit to Koeman, but circumstances helped. If he would drop lenglet all together I would be pleased. Pedri could have left on koeman's word though.

Suarez would never have reduced wages particularly not to stay on bench.

After the club pointing to contract for Messi good luck to them trying to get Suarez to ignore his.

Araujo has been trusted when came in and played well after being promoted at beginning of season. Circumstances often help younger players getting their initial chances. Same happened with Fati.

Pedri would never have left after initially being advised to seek a loan it changed quickly and Koeman has placed a lot of trust in him since.

Even EV and Setien game chances to youngsters, mainly in my opinion, because of the decreasing level of the seniors and some injuries.
We have been fortunate with pedri, araujo and Fati, and not because of planning. From next season, we need to create something due to planning and not luck.

Good for them if they gave chances to youngsters... but didnt do it to nearly extent Koeman has nor placed remotely same trust in them.

No it is not 'fortunate' those players came through or have been trusted. Nor is it 'luck'.

All just excuses to try and write off changes trying to be made.
