I just confirmed it w/ him - Fabrizio said this, but it was his own opinion on the matter. Ronald Koeman’s continuity for next season will be decided by the next present who will be elected in March. Smiling face with smiling eyes

To all of those who think this can't get worse, let me remind you that circa 2008, Bayern was losing 4-0 to Zenit in the UEFA Cup, and in 2012 Liverpool was playing vs Unirea Urziceni in UEFA Cup, barely winning 1-0 on Anfield.

Trust me, you can be much worse than getting beaten badly in CL by the best teams in Europe.

From sheer mediocrity, now Bayern and Liverpool are the last 2 CL winners. Things go in cycles.

I do think in recent times the CL has become the measuring stick of a team's success. Back in the 90's, the cup winners cup and Uefa were seen as great trophies to win too. Soon as teams starting routinely winning their leagues, domestic titles didn't mean as much and the CL was the pinnacle. Since then a bad CL match can pretty much ruin a clubs season in spectators' eyes.

Yea, but not talking about the 90s. In 2008 and 2010 playing in EL was embarrassing for the big clubs. Both Liverpool and Bayern played there in their bad times. It's football, you can't stay at the top non-stop.

You're gonna have bad times. What is worse, is that the guys running the club seem to be in denial. And some of the fans too. Couldn't believe people were saying this tie is 50-50 .

Why, because PSG treats Ligue 1 as beneath their level, which it is? And relax and fool around more than usual? It's one thing to be elite, and relax because you can, and not be good enough even at your best. Which was the difference between these teams. The focused version of PSG showed up and played us off the park.

Absolutely, but what angers me is that we (I mean club, not forum) don't realize our cycle is/was over and move on.

They are still trying to babble about building a new team around Messi :rofl1:. I mean, what the fuck are we talking about? These guys are clowns living in yesterland. Laporta included.

Amigos first and foremost are responsible for this. They will never accept that they are responsible for the big defeats and that their cycle is over.
Look at their cocky statements, even after CL humiliations. They look elsewhere for victims, either coach or board or whatever else is not themselves.
That's telling of how distorted their view of reality is.
Plus, they don't realize how much they embarrass themselves with these statements. When they make sense (like Pique after Bayern saying he will be the first to step aside), after a while you realize they didn't really mean it (Pique still wanting to be a starter, and doing everything to come back from injury for the most important game, and impose himself on the starting XI).

The first attempt to go against them was last summer when Barto decided to oust Raki, Vidal, and Suarez.
But still, there are a lot of Amigos left: Messi, Pique, Busi, Alba, even Roberto.

Yeah, the club rested on its laurels. It got wrapped up in having Messi that it grossly exaggerated the impact one individual whilst grossly underestimating the importance of having a world class team. 23 year old Messi was surrounded by the best players in the world in their respective positions.

Along the way, Fc Barcelona became Fc Messi and the recruitment to replace these players was nothing short of shambolic. I hated Rossell from day one and i hated Bartomeu too. They did everything in their power to undermine the success of the previous board, but have used their successes as the backbone to try and continue that model despite the obvious needs for refreshment.

Even the 2015 treble and 2016 double was largely made up of players from the Laporta/Pep era. Football does indeed go in cycles but when you're dominating world football you can pretty much attract any player you want and need to keep improving, we did the complete opposite and just hit the self-destruct button.

It is beyond pathetic that the issues in 2017 are still the same issues affecting us today.

No doubt. The Bartomeu era has been a disaster. These are the guys who pushed out Pep imo, have no doubt. We probably know less than 10% of what really happened between him and the board, to make this guy exclude any possible return.

These clowns think we will make remontada V2 happen

Alba to Mbappe yesterday: "You're getting too big for yourself."

Mbappe to Alba: "If I find you on the street I'll kill you."

Alba: "This kid is learning. He is learning."

Pique to Mbappe: "Who will you kill?"

This isn't good and won't fix anything. Our problems are institutional/way deeper than just a coach. This forum does not seem to grasp that

Alba acting the big man. Would be better of steaming into a tackle with Mbappe and taking the booking than mouthing off shit like that acting like some fake hardman or elder that Mbappe should have respect for.
