the LB position is a mystery.
Alba is not in Koeman's plans and rightly so.
But Firpo seems below par until now.

The Left CB will be Lenglet, the right CB will be Eric Garcia/Araujo/Pique (hopefull in that order) and the RB Semedo.

We desperately need a signing for LB. I guess the club is trying to get tagliafico as part of some deal to ship off Suarez to Ajax?

Well why would he certainly stay if we sign Garcia? He could be a starter on this team which will make lenglet-Garcia a good cb pairing. I also want Araujo to get minutes and that’ll be difficult with pique here

I see what you are saying, but we did all of those before and we should do them next season. However, we have never relied on crossing. RMFC and LFC before BM did well because they crossed when they struggled.

Exactly, we need more crossers (we have got Roberto who has been quite good at crossing). We do not have to cross for headers, low crosses are fine too (Alba's, for example)

The board is just using Koeman to blame everything in case the team fails next season which is highly likely.
It will take years for the current and future board to get rid of all the seniors to refresh the squad and mentality and Koeman won't be here by the time the club is back to half-decent.

It's good they're giving him absolute power though. The highlighted part sounds like they're committed to a new direction. They might even be willing to pay a portion of the unwanted players' salaries perhaps...

One thing though, hope they give Koeman enough rope wiggle. Like the great philosopher Mou Say Tung once said:

Even ih he does only that he would do more than majority of our recent coaches.
Like you say, it's that simple, we need football basics and then everything else...and I remember EV crying about last magical pass missing, like that's our problem!
