No,not yet but I beleive that he will do soon,When Marca and As said that they will sign Di Maria,they signed him,same with Pedro Leon and I guessthis will happen with Khedira.

He is not a defensive midfielder,even with Germany's 4-2-3-1 Shwinistiger(I cant say his name) play at a more deeper role so Khedira is a central midfielder not a defensive midfielder.

Ye, he can actually play both positions. Although i think hes best used as box to box midfielder, being able to make more use of his technique and work rate.
