Told you the other day on twitter , Sami will prove you wrong this season
He was covering for the out of breath Di Maria & Ozil
I do not want to shit on his party because he did assist Ronaldo but we did play with a man extra for 60 minutes. I am not as keen as you on him, and most of my anger towards him is due to his awkward relationship with Xabi. Since Xabi was the only reliable outlet for us (and still is), Khedira is not his best partner. He will definitely improve, I trust that, it is only natural. Not to mention how weak we are technically in simple things like first touch, dribbling and ball possession, he adds to the issue. He works hard, I never slammed him for that and that is always has been his true positive. You know how much do the Bernabeu love a hard working man and I am not different but god damn it Beast you cannot argue his past 2 seasons. I may exaggerate things to illustrate a point but it wasn't without cause or reason. He bounces around and falls over very clumsily and a lot. To his credit, he does play in the most demanding of positions, he is perhaps emotionless and very strong mentally because nothing seems to phase him, not even his countless mistakes.
My points would remain valid if it weren't for Modric's arrival which actually works best in Khedira's favor. A mobile outlet, deep play maker (if he were to replace Xabi) with a good tackle on him would help Khedira focus for sure. I like that he is strong in the air too, gives us an edge. He does a lot because he feels inclined to get very involved as Xabi rarely moves. The blame is there on inconsistent Di Maria, and 60 minute Ozil who actually is only/just a good-very good dribbler. And Arbeloa, who besides being a tidy RB, offers nothing up front with his utter shit delivery.
But if he does become one of our best players, I wouldn't be wrong, it is just that you would be right about him improving. I have my reservations about him, and I hope he improves. Nothing personal, purely professional.
