Who can we get to replace him? Koulibaly would be a dream but maybe too expensive/old at this point.

Umtiti definitely needs to be shipped out though

I noticed when he got minutes again he played like he was afraid of going too hard in fear of possibly getting injured again.

It was noticeable in the way he ran and how his left leg moved.

He won't be sold this summer.

But I'm starting to share the idea that if Umtiti isn't up to speed early on in the season and still looks sluggish and if his knee is bothering him, you might as well demote him to 4th behind Todibo. Todibo may be younger and far less experienced, but he looks so far ahead in terms of fitness and athleticism alone.

It'll be too late by then

Ruined his career by refusing to get that knee surgery.

yeah but he got to score and win a world cup.

It's not like he's going to retire next year because of his decision , he can still make money from some clubs even with a fucked up knee and retire at 32 or some shit.

In the end it will be worth it for him.

True and winning WC in your home country is probably worth it. Torres messed up his career because of WC as well.

In Lucho we trust!
Umtiti pre-injury was easily our best defender. Let's give him time and see if he has recovered from his injury before we throw him to the lions.

He contributed to his nation winning the world cup. It is his decision and his legacy, it is not your place to play judge and jury

He could at least have got that surgery after the world cup.

Oh yeah I recall he gave away one of the dumbest penalties ever seen in possibly their very first game .. he went up to challenge for a header but smashed it away with his arm !

Plus who can forget that invisible forearm to his throat incident!
