What do you suggest they do?
May be that keeping him and reducing salary is best case scenario at this point.
Not to mention that we could still save a ton of money if we - by some miracle - transfer/loan him next year.

We should sub him on in the final seconds of every match just to humiliate him and give fans the chance to boo him
Currently, this crocked anchor will be gone by the summer of 2023. If restructuring his contract, we must not do anything foolish like cutting his wages in half only to extend him to 2027.
tldr last pages ?
So what's the news now regarding him ? Are we planning to give him another contract with shit money just to reduce his curent salary ?
It is just a PR stunt.
He is the only one who decides of he stays or not, and he decided to stay.
We can't prevent him from training either.
So a player who is staying and training against your well after trying every trick possible, might as well try to reduce the tension and maybe even make him take a little pay cut in trade for some respect.
Even if he doesn't take pay cut, at least we can pretend it was our decision
But we can freeze him out of the first team squad and make him train with the b-team, correct?
That would be even easier for him. I'd rather not give the kids such a "role model" next to them. Imagine what Umtiti would talk to them in between drills.
