How does the salary cap work if he goes on loan with us paying a % of wages? Would it just go down as a club expense as he is not registered to us but not count against the cap?

Why would we pay full salary? What do we gain from it?

We get paid bonus if he actually play.
Ask itthe other way around, what do Lecce get from a guy who seems physically done?
That is what we can get for him, and maybe he oerforms well enough so that we get those bonus and someone offer something for him.
Otherwise he will get his contract terminated in 2023 and get paid his differed wages, but we close this chapter and move on.

How can they lose if we are daft enough to pay all his wages ..

I bet we let him play against us as well and he will have a blinder :)

Good to send him out on loan even if club is paying full salary.

Improves locker room atmosphere to get rid of a leech.

Doubt he had a bad locker room presence tbh, he was fine just being here and not expecting to play. Other players don't really care about that like most fans who dislike him.

He very likely wasn't a bad personality or bad locker room presence. But he is a player that was sticking around even when it was clear the managers didn't have a use for him and the club wanted him to leave. He also was no where close to physically being able to play for Barca

Its better to have guys in the locker room who can actively compete for playing time and want to contribute rather than a guy who is just there to collect his cheques.

Probably would have kept him around if he had leadership qualities like mascherano unfortunately this fool had none

Do you think the other players of Barca feel comfortable with his presence in the locker room? He is a player who obviously can't play due to physical limitations but is collecting hefty pay-checks. That is already a bad example for others. Someone may just decide to follow his footsteps when the club ask him to leave.
Even though Barcelona will have to pay his full wages for the next season it will be very relaxing for many of us to not see his face around.
