Barca limite partner registration
FC Barcelona, by its vice president Jordi Cardoner, has announced that limited from November 1 Partner registration

Cardoner announced at a press conference, as of this date only will be accepted by the club that those requests come from family members first and second grade, children under 14 years and those who have already been previously club.

No matter if you love Barça and you want to be a 'soci', Barça will become a classist club. Another Rosell success.

Do you remember Rosell slogan in the campaign? 'Tots som Barça' (We are all Barça).

Such dirt.

Way to go.

Will probably try registering myself as a soci before 1st of November.

Edit: actually the fuckers have taken the soci registration possibility down.

Fuck you Rossell. A sincere and genuine: fuck you.

I don't understand this...All those Rosell groupies, someone explain the basis for a decision like this??...Are my dreams of becoming a socio and getting season tickets flushed down the loo??

I suspect the Unicef logo/sponsorship will soon likely make way for a Bwin sponsorship or similarly lucrative deal

Vote of no confidence around the corner now

One to consider???? a quote from Jordi Cardoner speaking on RAC1

"We think that the idea of unlimited growth promoted by the board was socially not correct. It would have been terrible if we today would have had 750.000 or 1.000.000 club members as was mentioned back then. We think that we should put a stop to the growth so that the current members really could enjoy the benefits of being a member.

What we will do is announce a period of three months during which everyone who isn't yet a member can make the decision of becoming it. After that period, only two groups could become a member: family members in the first of second degree of a member or children who would be given the chance to grow up with the club."

How does that impact on a few people on here who may have been fans for a number of years, been to games but never got round to getting soci status?

Previously Sandro has taked about "regulating" the membership.....

"We have already 3.000-4.000 Japanese club members, which is good but one day we could have 50.000. Or 50.000 Chinese or 50.000 Russians, it's the same. And those 50.000 Russians could one day decide that the president of Barça would be a Russian"

Is the issue here a threat to the democracy of the club?

-> 3 months? I suppose that has been reduced now to 0 months?

No, to be fair I haven't really followed the elections. I'm not a socio yet, so I couldn't vote anyway :)

Btw, that quote about 50.000 Russians or Japanese, is rubbish. If they're so worried about that, they perfectly could have introduced some kind of quota system (max 80% new Catalan members, max 10% EU members, and max 10% non-EU, or sth like that)

immaculately conceived
Or just say "feck off, the new president has to be a Catalan".

Being selective about the presidential candidates is more effective and less discriminating then being selective about the members. Limit the candidates to the ones you want and expand the base of voluntarily paying voters: more money + better suited candidates. That's the most logical thing to for any business.

But it is the other way around, I don't trust that for a cunning tit like Rosell. It is too fishy. Just like that Due Diligence thing for instance. I don't like him, I don't like him, I don't like him. He got the benefit of the doubt but he's turning out like "one like all the others" way more sooner than I would have liked.

I hope I can say the same as with Laporta at the end of his reign "The benefits outweigh the disadvantages", but given what Rosell has put in the disadvantages-scale ...
