does alex ferguson need a sporting director??? No. neither does Pep. then maybe we will stop paying silly money for the likes of caceres, kerrison,
you do realise alex ferguson basically
is the sporting director, right?
he doesn't take/organise training every day, his #2 does.
what will probably happen is pep will become the sporting director and he'll bring someone else in as coach. possibly lucho. or maybe we'll promote tarantito.
also you people need to lay off chysus. he's twice the defender caceres is already. his problems come from nerves, usually when in possession, and being caught flat-footed - not like caceres who's simply positioned poorly, switches off, then uses his pace to bail himself out. plus chysus brings the ball out of the back with epic authority which is important for our style of play.
most of these problems exist because he's coming from a bus-parking system into a new league, new language, new culture and new standard and pace of football. much harder transitions than caceres had to make. and he's getting better with each match, something caceres failed to do.
he won't "do a piqué" but he won't disappoint like martin. who obviously had some epic flaw coz people wouldn't even use him at the end even when we were crying out for a CB (and shipped him out even though we needed cover at RB).
