Roberto passed ball better than Gavi in fist half as did Kessie by a long way.

All three were terrible on and off the ball in second half and nothing between them on that front and none of them showed any quality on ball.

FDJ is only athlete Barca have in midfield and Pedri is second on that and both are the best at reading the game and understanding from CM where to position themselves etc.

Roberto to be fair has been decent in CM v poorer sides but step up to La Liga fodder to likes of Real is huge and Barca only have two CMs that can play to that level.

Alemany wasn't wrong.

Remember back in late 2021 when Roberto and his agents were trying to play Hardball with Alemany and the Club because supposedly had better offers elsewhere only for Alemany to take the offer off the table and Roberto suffered a bad injury which left him out for a long while and basically got a renewal at the last minute because he had no other offers.

Fast forward two years later it's the same issue, there's no team dumb enough to give him a better deal than what he has now as he's become so injury prone and he's gotten older as well.

Xavi and Yuste can be butthurt all they want but Alemany is actually correct in this regard.

To be fair to Xavi it is not the place of Alemany to be telling players it is more than they can get elsewhere or passing his personal opinion there.

He should be crunching the numbers and agreeing what club can offer Roberto not passing comment on it.

Xavi was right with Dembele also. It served no purpose to banish him to stands despite Alemany wanting it to happen.

Even if Alemany is correct it doesnt really serve any purpose.. let Roberto go and find out there are no better offers.

Surely gotta do it internally with a squad vote and not going by seniority in first team squad.

If players then vote for likes of Alba and Roberto, fine. But they shouldn't automatically wear the armband because they're the most senior. Same goes for Dembele who supposedly becomes fourth captain.

Could have 2-3 first captains chosen by the squad and the fourth by seniority if want to keep some tradition + easy transition in the captains group.

Voting will be made for 4th captain, whom might have a chance to be first long term captain since Puyol.

Should be a fresh vote, clean slate for all now with so many seniors having left lately, and the ones that remain are bench warmers. Just because Roberto and Alba were voted for once they shouldn't remain there forever.

Wasn't Puyol voted for after Lucho left?
