Sergio Busquets

Busquets is irreplaceable and a fundamental part of Barca together with Puyol, Xavi, Messi and Iniesta. I wouldn't care if Chelsea made a bid for 100 million because there is simply no one to replace Busquets with.

However, as far as the discussion Messi VS Busquets in importance; if I was given a choice that one of them had to go, I would keep Messi as I possible can't phantom us being better off with Busquets rather than Messi.

That's my personal take on it, perhaps I don't understand football enough to grasp Busquets's brilliance well enough but I simply don't see how people would take Busquets over Messi if you disregard biases and think what would be best for Barca.

Either way, both of them are living legends at the age of 25 or less and it's a pleasant thought we'll witness both of their magic for a few more years.

As far as I know they aren't. But it seems like his brother, Pol Busquets, is also playing (or played) at our cantera. Pol is Oriol's brother, not Sergio's.. just to make things clear :p

without busi, the midfield would be way less dominant, busi creates so much space for our 2 other midfielders, you dont even notice. with one of his crazy passes he can pass by the whole midfield

Someone seriously said Busquets is equally important as Messi?

Mind-boggling.

Its their opinion.
I believe it too.
Sometimes, during the match I just look at Busi's movement off the ball and his first time passes.
Every time he completes a pass, the oppositions' pressing is rendered useless since he passes with his very first touch to a free man who can maneuver accordingly.
Its just mind boggling!

I would keep Messi over Busquets but losing Busquets would mean losing a huge part of our playing style in midfield. We can bring somebody else in/promote and I think we will learn to cope but not immediately. Whereas without Messi, we would still be an excellent excellent team (like Spain) but I don't see us being as dominant winning a lot of the trophies, especially if teams continue to park the bus.

I don't think anyone on its right mind would choose any player in the world over Messi. That's not what I was talking about, but the importance for this team, the way Barça plays. The 1st half of the ongoing match against cordoba shows it. Messi, Xavi, Puyol and Busquets are the players I can notice the team misses the most, when they don't play. Puyol especially for his leadership. Iniesta too, but a litlle bit less than the other 4.

I saw it against Cordoba. No Busi = no control over the match and you get end-to-end stuff.
I really hope he doesn't get injured this season because that would be a disaster.
I do too believe Busi is almost as important as Messi.
