Basically:

He is good vs teams who don't press us and put us under pressure. Then he has the time and legs to do what he does the best. Today, he is a liability in games like these. Simply too high intensity for him. He needs his time to search for a pass and make his moves.

He would probably look the best in the Italian league. It fits him.

Busquets has been pressing madly high for years, at least since 2014. At this point, it is one of his traits. Abysmal at defending the space in his area despite having the reputation of a positional master.

Your whataboutism regarding Frenkie and Pedri is not a good argument either. It's true they were bad, but it doesn't justify Busi's trademark stinker.

I have a lot of respect for Busi the player from 2008-17. But with each passing game/season he remains a starter in repeating European (and also more and more domestic as well) humiliations that respect goes down further and further. He is and was a liability for years and it will only get worse.

I have zero respect for Busi the captain. He has no personality for that role.

The only time any team really pressured them was Croatia in dying minutes as needed two... and Busi was awful and they scored twice. Was subbed off not long after in ET.

Give him space and still will look decent on ball.

Ask him to protect a defence or play out under pressure and cant do it and is a huge liability.

Spain won one game in 90 mins in Euros with Busi as a starter.. vs Slovakia.

Spain missed chances in those games. Missed most chances of any in that first two games.
