These deferrals are always going to be due to players when contracts are up.

Well it's probably either that or extending his contract as paying all the deferred wages at once for multiple players might not be possible.
That being said let's see if he actually leaves in 2023, if he continues to play 99% of minutes.

Xavi may be judged for some tactical decisions and how we folded at the Camp Nou vs Frankfurt(tbf the whole institution & fans folded there). But otherwise it's not like he had much of a choice when he basically started mid-season and we had one clear objective - to get that CL spot.
People dreaming of experiments in that situation, when the squad is already thin, had unrealistic expectations.
Playing FDJ as DM was tried by other managers before him and didn't work in our setup. So Xavi stuck with what he knew, even if Busquets is on his last legs.
We'll see how we progress next season and who we get in Winter/Summer of 2023 as Busquets replacement. Because eventually we'll have to get someone to play DM.
