Sorry if I derail the thread any further. I expect it will be messi again who wins it, and I'm okay with it. But I think it's a bit sad people consider it a joke when someone mentions Casillas or Ramos. It's the same problem i have with the label "the best player in the world". It just makes no sense in a team sport where positions have evolved to the point they are not comparable anymore. messi scored 70 something goals last season? So how many shots on target did he save? you see the problem with that logic? I think it's fair to say that Ramos had a very definite impact on both the league title and the euro title. on the other hand, messi for all the goals he scored failed big time with that penalty against chelsea. It's not all black and white is what I'm saying. And people saying stuff like it's a joke election when people don't vote for messi, i just find it narrowminded.

I think you are very narrowminded just to look at messis goals and doubt ballon dor victory,which i dont care about btw.If u watched barcas games last year and this it would be clear for you why he should win it,but clearly you havent....Just because its not black and white he should win it hands down...

yeah, Messi only a goalscorer
no matter how smart people try to sound by not selecting Messi as the best player in the world, he still proves his worth week after week. He is far above everybody else. Iniesta and Xavi are in the group of best midfielders in history but Messi challenges Pele and Maradona every game. It shouldn't be so hard especially for a Barca fan to accept Messi's position in world football. After all our whole squad affirms it every once in a while(even Xavi and Iniesta, in fact especially them)

generally speaking, a person who doubts things is less narrowminded than a person of 100 % conviction. looking at things from different angles is sort of the essential thing about doubt. I'm of the opinion ramos is as worthy as messi to win it. you, apparently, aren't. we could try to discuss since this is a forum, but when you deduce i haven't watched games of barca last year because i don't share your opinion, it doesn't seem like a good way to spend quality time. IMO the the individual trophies should go purely for the player who produce the best football in the world while he wins team trophies or not
Yes winning team trophies help the case but look at chelsea we cant say they are the best team cuz they won the CL
when you look at Casillas and Ramos yes they are good and won trophies but the team trophies won with a team effort
luck has alot to do with it what kind of Ref your going to have what injuries the team suffer from booking what teams your going to face in your run and when
how much rest your team is going to have compared to the other the mood of other players all these factors and more affect team trophies
A lot of time i have seen the trophies gone to players who don't deserve it and Messi is the only player who deserve it
now it his time deal with it he didn't fail he did his part and then some but it was injuries to our back line Abidal and we lost Puyol and PK for some time
we lost villa for the season while Pedro had the worst season with injury also Alexis and Pep had a thin bench the Refs didn't help either
what do you want messi to do to play in every position
Luck didn't help also we had a tough run in CL faced Ac milan 4 times which takes alot of energy and puts mental strain on our players which affected our Laliga run
while Real faced APOEL and CSKA
Timing didn't help also the 3 most important games of last year we had 2 days rest between each game while Chelsea had nothing to play for than our meeting and we
out played them
and real had more rest than us in their CL games playing on tuesday the 2nd leg on wednesday and were outplayed by bayern
with all these factors the questions
Is football a game of entertainment or only about winning with all means
Ramos and Casillas were they the stars of their teams and made the fans of football around the world halt
and can't describe the kind of football they are brining to the field
I know only of one player who is doing these things week in week out that made ppl lost for words to describe
the beauty he brings to the pitch and he isn't named Casillas or Ramos
