Sergio Ramos

I'm not saying he isn't a good CB, but he is a very very dirty player, playing for barcelona he wouldn't get the special treat he gets from the referees in Madrid. Even playing for them he is the most red carded player in their history. For Barcelona he would be red carded on daily basis.

+1
He didn't earn all of those red cards in Mou's tenure. He's not a Barca quality player.

Same with Alonso and Arbeloa. They are right idiots when playing at Madrid but are much different with the NT. Mou's sorcery, I am sure of it :D

Nah it is because no one in NL level can trouble Spain, when they will face someone that will cause them trouble they will resort to their thuggery

Italy troubled them in the group stages, as did France and Portugal in both the Euros and the qualifiers and neither of the aforementioned three resorted to their dirty Real-measures.

Italy was a meh game to be honest draw was all they required, France did jack all bar Ribery, Portugal had no shots on goal, the tactic was set out to nulify Spains attacks along the way they handicapped themselves.

This. Pique gets red cards sometimes for only two fouls in a game. When you can man handle forwards without reprimand its easy to 'control' them. Its actually scary that he would probably have double the red cards playing for a different club if he played the same way. Del Bosque gets him to play cleaner but you cant completely blame Mou . Look at how he injured Henry in 2009 in the 6-2, long before Mourinho came. Henry's decline started after that and it almost cost us vs. Chelsea.

He would completely have to change his game if he played for another club. Can you imagine him trying to defend the way he does if he played AGAINST Madrid at the SB. There would be very, very few games where he would last the entire 90 minutes.

Ramos has always been Ramos proudly killing whoever is in his way in the name of the shirt he wears. He is a blessing and a curse to his team. Pretty much on the same shelf as Gattuso and Keane.

Top 3 CBs in the world. Magnificent player and when all the distractions from around Madrid settle he will shine even brighter and he will lead us to the 10th CL title. The reason he is so much more comfortable at NT is because there is a working system and A LOT less trouble. As a vice captain at Madrid he is involved in a lot and is always at the forefront of it all. Plus there is Ronaldo who doesn't defend, the ever changing right midfielder with inconsistent Di Maria or Callejon or whoever is a make shift right midfielder who all create an inbalance in the team. And there is the awkward combination of Xabi-Khedira which I have grown to dislike so much, more than ever. And when you consider how many waves of attacks we suffer during a game you understand what puts these defenders at risk of being rash, because if they weren't, it'd be goals conceded.

LIke others said, if it weren't for him wearing a white jersey, the amount of red cards he has received would double. Easy to be considered a great defender when you are forgiven 2 or 3 YC each game

that's not the point, the point is how Madrid defenders get away with such antics. It happens virtually everygame and it doesnt make Ramos a better CB if you have not realized that yet

yes, Ramos should have been sent off for constantly elbowing lewandoswki
yes, he is getting away with a lot of dirty stuff in almost every game.
BUT i admire his will and spirit, he forced the second goal and if madrid would made the comeback complete, it would have been caus of his attitude!!!

lets face it, when penaldo was crying and giving up, Ramos lead his team.

that's the good side of Ramos, but you cannot completely look apart and don't consider his thug side. With a fair refering, no intent of comeback or wahtsoever, Ramos should've been sent off after the second elbow at the most(in first half)

Ramos is the most red carded player in the history of Real Madrid ( and if i'm mistaken yellow record too ) so saying he gets away with it is hilarious at the very least
of course if we are taking about Xabi the expert than i agree .. King Xabi gets away with murder just like Makalele who was a dirty as you can get but kept a clean image just like Xabi
