I doubt Roma can beat Leverkeusen in the Europa League, so Serie A might be the best option for Roma to get CL qualification. De Rossi should play the 2nd team vs Leverkeusen.

Let's see if my prediction comes true.

Roma (60 pts - 35 games played)
vs Atalanta away - W
vs Genoa home - W
vs Empoli away - W

Total 69 pts

Bologna (64 pts - 35 games played)
vs Napoli away - T
vs Juventus home - L
vs Genoa away - W

Total 68 pts

Atalanta (57 pts - 33 games played)
vs Salernitana away - W
vs Roma at home - L
vs Lecce away - W
vs Torino at home - W
vs Fiorentina at home (date TBD) - T

Total 67 pts
First of all, 5 teams are getting into CL from Serie A, it's already confirmed

Then, Bologna is not getting only 4 points, I see at least 2 Ws in the remaining ones
Atalanta is winning all games, bar Roma, if they need the points

It would be really interesting to see who will be left out eventually

Already aware that 5th place gets into the CL. Have posted about it in this thread.

Bologna's form have been iffy recently, and tying against teams that they should be winning so wouldn't be too sure of them getting at least 2 Ws. Then again Napoli's form is also iffy as well so possibly see a tie between them since Napoli is playing at home.

Atalanta's schedule is munched together with the Europa League and the Coppa Italia final included as well. But out of all 3 teams, Atalanta definitely has the easier run in.

It'll be a tight race for sure.

Atalanta 2-0 Roma.

Basically game over. The only way Roma gets CL is if

- Atalanta wins the Europa League and are placed in 5th place
- Roma stays in 6th place

With Juve still needing to play Bologna and both of them are equal in points, there's a good chance Atalanta goes up to 4th place

Don't think that's correct
Serie A has 5 CL spots for next season.
If Atalanta wins EL AND is within the first 5 positions of the table, no new spot is allocated for Italy
in the same way it used to happen all previous years when a top4 team would win EL or CL

New spot is allocated for EL/CL winner ONLY if they themselves have not qualified through their league

The first 4 spots can't be passed down. Only the new coefficient 5th place spot can be passed down.

Roma only gets to the Europa League if Atalanta wins the EL + only placed in the 5th placed. Mute point anyways since Atalanta will probably finish 4th place.

ah, interesting!
Didn't know that the 5th coefficient spot can be passed down

there is good chance then for Roma. Atalanta play two finals this and next week, and can rotate for the weekend games.
It's possible that Bologna and Juve will finish 3rd and 4th

Yeah, this whole 5th coefficient spot is a new thing this season and there's no clear guidance from UEFA, which makes it more confusing.

An issue for Roma is that Bologna and Juve are playing each other this weekend and judging from the number of games and points between Bologna, Juve and Atalanta, there is a good chance Atalanta will be in 4th place, thus nullifying Roma to the CL place.

Plus, there is also the other condition that Atalanta must achieve which is to win the Europa League. But since Leverkeusen is invincible this season, it'll be very difficult indeed.

We'll see.

Just saw the schedule.
I see Bologna win against Juve and another win in the last game. Juve will win the easy last game.
Roma will win the two remaining. I see Atalanta drawing at least one of the remaining

The most likely final table IMO would be:
3- Bologna 70 pts
4 - Juve 69 pts
5 - Atalanta 67 pts
6 - Roma 66 pts

if then Atalanta wins EL Roma would also join the CL next season,
if Leverkusen wins, no CL for Roma
