They really play some beautiful attacking football, yet you never hear anyone talk about their coach, Gian Piero Gasperini. You would think he is heading to a big team next. Something like Juve if they keep underperforming with Sarri, or even the likes of PSG. Sure as hell would love to see a classy Italian coach at Barca, but we know that isn’t happening. Always looking at former players or La Liga coaches. Beyond pathetic.

So sad that Atalanta play so amazingly and they will end the season with no trophy.

It's a tragedy for Italian football that Juve is going on to win another Scudetto when they play like this.
They remind me of RM sometimes in that they play badly but they manage somehow to escape with points

Atalanta can make any team look silly, PSG match will be something.

It will! GPG vs PSG.

both GPG and TukTuk like to play a high octane hyper-offensive game. GPG's even more spectacolo cuz he plays his special brand of fast liquid metal 3 4 3

Why did you delete your hype comment

I was gonna post -- > No need to wait :cookies:

he and

are the bee's knees.

All aboard!

I think they have a decent chance at winning the CL. I'd probably have them as 4th favorites now behind Bayern, City, and PSG

He was at Inter and has been sacked after losing 4 out of the first 5 games. Probably not entirely his fault and this was almost a decade ago so he should earn another chance at a bigger club but some coaches are doing great in smaller clubs but can't transition this to bigger clubs. Personally I don't think Gasperini is even considering moving to a bigger club right now. He's enjoying his life at Atalanta with almost no pressure so why would he move to another club where he could again be written off ater a poor start?

I also don't think he would fit here, especially not with this old team we have now. From Italian coaches I'd prefer Simone Inzaghi who is among the most talented young coaches. But there are also question marks about him. He knows Lazio inside out but how would he do in another club he doesn't know so good? He could struggle even in another Italian team like Juve, let alone a foreign club. He has never played or coached outside of Italy so how would he adapt working in another country/league?

And from other foreign coaches my prefered candidates for a future Barca coach would be Klopp (he's highly unrealistic though), Nagelsmann and I'm also starting to like Ruben Amorim so I'll follow how his coaching career will progress in coming years. I'm talking about 4-5 years from now because it's obvious Xavi will be our next coach.

Also, Sarri was "meh" before Napoli, and "meh" after.
Sometimes wonder seasons just happens, regardless of coaches.

Sure.

Or it could be that a coach just gets a group of players that fit perfectly to his system at one club and then later can't reproduce the same results with other (although they could be better on paper) players at different club and he's also not able to adapt his system to fit his current players better.

Wouldnt put it past Atalanta to reach the final. They seem one of those attacking tournament teams which reach the final but don't have the tactical clout to close the deal. Think Monaco 2004 versus Porto, Bayern 2010 versus Inter, Liverpool 2018 versus Madrid.

A team ripe to be exploited by Bayern, City or VARdrid. :(
