The debt is dishonestly presented, the real debt is probably around the 200M mark which is low considering Barca's revenue(474M) and assets(Camp Nou, Messi etc) Barca this last year managed to reduce the official "debt" from 430M to 364M without any shirt sponsorship. That reduction looks likely to continue this season irrespective of the shirt deal. The shirt deal is only 30M a year which is only 6% of revenue. Revenue that is growing significantly and consistently year on year so that % will probably drop. Within the context of Barca's revenue growth it's peanuts really. Why give up over a century of tradition for that?

In fact financially it may even hurt the club long term as it dilutes the brand and uniqueness of the club. That reduced appeal could translate to lesser increase in fanbase in addition to fans like IrvDizzle not buying branded shirts.

I am a member and will vote for this on Saturday in Barcelona. I think we should back it, at the moment we have financial debt so I don't see another solution.
Once we are 'healthy' again we can have no sponsor on our shirts. But at the moment, it's impossible not to have one. If you look at other big teams, they all have big oil-dollar owners.. we won't be able to compete with them otherwise. Times change.

I just read back from last year, you guys seriously thought once you are making money you will stop it? If you sold out once, there is no point in going back on it as it makes no sense. What would you say? We sold out once in our history?
