Missed the first half which in hindsight was not a bad thing. The second half was a decent performance and Vitolo had good debut. IMO a more talented Jesús Navas in the making.

It was basically a second string team so I won't conclude too much. The problems that are present today have been slowly creeping into the team since the UEFA Euro 2012 win.

I would like to see this formation at one point in the future. Just to test it at least.

-------------de Gea------------

Carvajal--Piqué-Ramos--Alba

------------Busquets-----------

------Koke----------Thiago------

--------------Isco----------------

----------Morata-Costa----------

Eventually replace Costa with Alcácer.

Thiago is a cripple, isnt he?

Thiago is a cripple, isnt he?

Well, for the past 1.5 years he has been some sort of a cripple but I have hopes of him returning on the playing field and fulfilling his potential. If he does then I believe that he will have a big future for La Roja.

I like that lineup as I would want us to play with 2 strikers. I am getting grey hairs from all "that passing into the net" football. Seems to be the modus operandi of late. Iniesta is, sorry to say, also way past it. I will give him until the UEFA Euro 2016 before he should call it a day and leave his spot for younger players.

Koke, Thiago, Isco, Morata, Alcácer etc. are the future of the team.

When in form and healthy then Koke, Thiago and Isco are already good enough and better than the alternatives. The lack of actual strikers (number 9 players) is dire at the moment outside of Costa and the two young guns (Morata and Alcácer). Villa retired, Torres is a joke lately, Negredo was never good enough and Llorente should at most be a substitute. Neither of those 3 (Torres, Negredo or Llorente) are the future either.

In terms of actual wingers then Pedro is a shadow of his former self, Silva was not really a traditional winger to begin with while Navas was never good enough to start.

So yeah, I kind of like that lineup.

What about Real's Jesé? He can become very good from what I hear.

I really like Jese, an explosive striker for any team to have. He had that nasty injury that kept him out of the field for a long time. If he comes back in the form that he once was, and further develop with RM (although unlikely), he can be the future of Spain's attack.

Anyway, a quote that I've seen recently and I liked a lot: "Trying to play Tiki-Taka without Xavi is like trying to play Sony Playstation without joysticks".

That moment when you realize that if Messi had elected to play for Spain, he'd have 1 World Cup and 2 European Championships. :/
